Alexandra Besson Obermair

International Sales and Marketing - Europe

Alexandra Besson is a highly skilled hospitality sales and marketing practitioner with more than 30 years experience representing Five-Star European hotels, resorts and world-class spas. Ms. Besson is based in Germany and oversees Morgensheer’s European Sales & Marketing Division. She is responsible for sales and marketing strategies which include:

  • Identification of new market segments

  • Repositioning of under-performing assets

  • Strategic marketing campaigns

  • Partnerships and alliances

Ms. Besson began her career in Germany holding prestigious apprenticeships at notable hospitality institutions such as: Hotel School Eckert and Mövenpick. She would go on to serve in sales,  marketing and operations positions at Terme di Saturnia Spa and Golf Resort in Tuscany.

For 14 years Ms. Besson led the international sales and marketing efforts on behalf of the award-winning resort, a Leading Hotels of the World and Virtuoso member.

As Director of Sales & Marketing, she successfully developed new markets for the resort to include the U.S., Middle East and Russian markets. additionally, Ms. Besson served as the resort’s General Manager.

Ms. Besson has consulted for notable resorts and spas throughout Italy such as the award-winning natural Spa of Chia Laguna Resort in Sardinia, Italy. as a member of the resort’s opening team, Ms. Besson led the marketing team successfully positioning the property as one of top spa resorts in the region.

In addition to her position within the Morgensheer Hospitality Consortium, Ms.  Besson serves as head of sales and marketing for Oberhof, Germany, a well-known winter sports destination, and home to the International World Cup in Biathlon.
